OUR MISSION & VISION

Mission

At Wildhaven Tales, our mission is to protect and empower children through story.

We believe every child deserves to feel safe, strong, and seen; and that begins with giving them the language, tools, and confidence to understand their bodies, their boundaries, and their right to be respected.

This curriculum was created by educators and survivors, people who have seen, firsthand, both the harm that can happen when children aren’t taught about consent, and the healing that’s possible when they are. As longtime teachers, curriculum designers, and advocates, we’ve built Wildhaven Tales to align with trauma-informed best practices, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) standards, and Erin’s Law requirements.

But more than anything, we created Wildhaven Tales to help shape a culture where children are safe, supported, and empowered. This curriculum doesn’t just teach kids how to set boundaries, it helps them understand how to respect them in others. Because prevention means reaching children early, before harm ever occurs. It means creating a world where every child knows how to say no, how to listen when someone else does, and how to grow up knowing that safety, respect, and consent are for everyone.

Vision

We imagine a world where every child knows their body belongs to them, and knows to respect the bodies of others.

Where consent isn’t just a rule to follow, but a deeply understood value. Where adults have the tools, language, and confidence to teach these lessons with compassion, clarity, and care.

Through story-based, trauma-informed education, we aim to foster a generation of children who know how to set and respect boundaries, speak up, and support one another.
